Assessment of the Biden Foreign Policy Doctrine

Abstract:

The United States is considered a principal power in the world which makes its foreign policy and foreign relations a major focus of consideration. Since President Joe Biden is close to completing his second year in office it is an appropriate time to reflect on the development and implementation of his foreign policy doctrine  to date. This doctrine also plays an important role in the way the United States deals with the governments of Russia and China  and the potential threats they can and have imposed on democracy. We have therefore selected for case analysis the application of the Biden Doctrine in the Ukraine war and and with respect to China’s conflict over Taiwan. It may be too premature to suggest that the current  level of integration and symbiosis  being pursued by  the Biden Administration  in Europe and being pushed for  in Asia is going to prove  be the hallmark of the Biden Doctrine of foreign policy.
