Blame it on the Edit: Examining the Treatment of Black Femininity on RuPaul’s Drag Race

Abstract:

This summer I have focused on revising my previous CURCA research in order to learn about the publication process. I analyzed and revised my argument, underwent the journal selection process, spoke with editors, and edited my article to fit the specified writing conventions of my chosen journal. With the guidance of my research advisor, I was able to complete my article and prepare it to be submitted for consideration to the GLQ: A Journal of Lesbian and Gay Studies.
