Discovery in Space of Ethanolamine, the Simplest Phospholipid Head Group
Abstract:
Ethanolamine, a precursor of phospholipids, was discovered in a molecular cloud, confirming that interstellar chemistry is capable of forming phospholipids. This means Ethanolamine could have been transferred from the proto-Solar nebula to our planet. We used a gas-grain astrochemistry code to assess the effects of a modified model of surface binding energy.
