Feasibility Study and Budget Proposal for an On-Site Child Study Center
Abstract:
A childcare program on or near Siena’s campus would meet the needs of Siena students, Siena’s research community, Albany County residents, and Siena employees/parents while actively supporting and extending our Franciscan values to the greater community. A child study center would be a fully functional, on-site (or near-site) child care center designed to create undergraduate experiential learning and research opportunities with children as well as serve the surrounding community’s need for affordable, high-quality child care. The research conducted examines licensing, accreditation, and legal/insurance requirements for childcare centers in New York State. It also produces an in-depth market analysis and an outline of what buildings on campus are currently not efficient and can be repurposed as a childcare center.
